It wasn't the first night that week that Samantha had closed up Madam Malkin's early, and she was sure it would happen again before the week was over. It wasn't that business was bad, just that she had other places she'd much prefer to be than working overtime for fussy customers and hard to measure students. Just hold still. Now there she was, walking down the cobbled street of Diagon Alley with her high heels on and a dark pair of jeans. Tugging at the hem of her pink corset-style top, Samantha raised her eyes in time to see the lights still on at Flourish and Blotts. She had only been working on the street for a few weeks, having just decided what she wanted to do with her life, and she had never come across the owner of the book store.
Until she caught sight of him in the window just then, and a cool smirk slid on to her face. Why had she missed this guy? Moving over to the book shop and pushing the door open hesitantly, Samantha stepped inside and glanced over at the owner, flashing him her best smile. "Oh I'm sorry, have I caught you at a bad time?" Samantha quickly remarked, holding the door open behind her as though she were serious about leaving at any moment if he said to do so. "It's just I work over at Madam Malkin's, I never get to shop around here because of my own work," she explained, and accidentally let go off the door (well accidentally on purpose), hearing it click shut behind her. "Whoops," Samantha exclaimed quietly, pretending to look downwards shyly as she waited for the man to hopefully respond how she wanted him to. [/blockquote]

Laertes always loved this area, it had been like a home away from home when he would come here to get the things that he needed for school when he was younger. This had been the most amazing area in the world to him, seeing that his mother was a witch, his father was a muggle and so he loved it better then the other world. When he had finished school he went right into working here at Flourish and Blotts and then the Apothecary as well with out even thinking about doing anything else. He thought that they were amazing stores and wanted to always be around them, he worked hard that when he was able, he bought the shops and now he runs them both with just a few people working for him, it was the life that he had always wanted. Now, some people would think that he was insane, that he should be doing something more with his life, but he liked it none the less, and he was sure that one day, someone will see why he is so happy there. Thus some of his story had come out into the open and he was a better man for it.
He had been working hard all day, there were many students coming and going getting the things that they were going to need for school. Some of the professors as well were back and forth picking things up, his friend Cerridwen had been in twice, it was just something funny about that as well. He was pretty happy about the whole lot of things that he was doing. So now it was time for him to close up shop and get everything put away for the night, he was just working about when the door came open and a pretty girl came into the shop. He looked at her for a moment, the smile never leaving his lips as she was talking about not coming in and where she worked in the shops around there and catching him at a bad time. He shook his head some as he smiled at her, moving back from the stack of books that he was dusting off and moved over to where she was. "No worries, you didn't come in at a bad time, glad i could help. Is there something that you are looking for? Maybe i could help you find what you need?" He said and laughed when the door went shut.

Samantha's stomach turned over a little when the man moved over to her and smiled at her. He had a nice smile. One that made her forget about the world outside the shop for just a moment, before her dark eyes settled on the book he was dusting off. A chuckle passed across her lips as she took a step closer to him. "I don't know, maybe you could," Samantha remarked to his comment on him helping her find what she needed. Her eyes lingered on him for a moment longer before she quickly snapped her gaze away and glanced around the shop. She raised one eyebrow as though she was considering what she needed, and really she was; though she needed the name of a book and fast. I came in here because you caught my eye was a pick up line she had used before. The cauldron shop owner had not been impressed.
"How about some books on healing?" Samantha finally decided, her brown eyes returning to the man as she flashed him another smile. Taking another step closer to him, Samantha chuckled a little. "I'm very interested in you know, healing potions, healing spells - the human body," she remarked, winking for just a split second so he could have missed it had he blinked, then spent the time wondering if she had really winked or not. Samantha kept her gaze on the man and then held out her hand infront of her, closing the gap between them. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name sir. Samantha Wilde," the woman informed him, hoping to the heavens that he would shake her hand. If her crude humour hadn't killed it already, the offer to get to know her would tell for sure.

He smiled at her, his heart was a bit up she seemed like such an interesting kind of person, someone that he had not run into before, and in so this was going to turn out to be something else all that interesting as well. He just smiled and nodded his head some, he leaned his head to the side and sighed some as he laughed a moment. She had said that she had hopped hat he was going to be able t help her, well that was something else, and he would have to know what it was that she was looking for before he could take her to where the books that she wanted were. He couldn’t say that she was pretty, and all that not right now at least. Because that would be impolite and he had just meet her so he couldn’t do something like that. No, no that would be something that he would not do there. "Books on healing. Oh well, we have a lot of them, there could be something that you would just want back in our Healing section, it is quiet in the back what not." He just smiled again at her.
He blinked a moment as she was going on about wanting to learn all the different healing things, from spells and potions to the body itself. Well he knew all about the books, and he was sure that he could find her something that would come up for her. "Laertes DeMarko its nice to meet you Samantha. Here come with me Miss and I will show you to where the books are on healing there just in the back." He said and smiled again, he was sure that things were going to be aright now as he moved back and started down between two really big stacks of books hey were going to go to the back of the shop where he had all the healing things, the reason was that some of them had come pictures that were just not that well for some young people. That was how he felt on the subject of healing, his mind was on the books and yet his mind was also on the girl that was right behind him as he was walking. He had no idea why his mind was going off like that, he just thought that something more was going to go on now.

Samantha wanted to slam her palm against her forehead when the man seemed to miss out on her "body" innuendos completely. It had seemed obvious to her, but maybe this man was one of the shy ones, in which she'd have to be a little more obvious. Nodding her head and peering into the back of the book store as he mentioned them, Samantha smiled when he took her hand and introduced himself. She held on to his hand for a little longer than she should have and then slowly dropped it, following his gaze back into the healing section of the shop.
Who was she kidding? She didn't know a thing about healing. But, ah, that was why she was buying books on it. It all worked out in the end. Biting her lip for a moment, Samantha soon sauntered after Laertes, a smile still glued on her face. "That's a very handsome name, Laertes," Samantha remarked as she moved quietly behind him. "It suits you," she added, deciding to leave it at that. The back of the shop seemed a little darker than the front, as they edged away from what was left of the sunlight coming in through the front window. "You know my brother always told me not to follow handsome men into dark rooms," the Gryffindor graduate cooed, finally coming to a stop once they were at the back of the shop. "But I think I'll take my chances," Samantha finished, her dark eyes lingering on Laertes and not paying any attention to the books around her.

He just smiled, how could something like her wanting to be around something like him, oh no, this was not going to do at all. He couldn’t help to laugh in his head when she was talking about the whole body thing, she was something so different as he had been around a lot of people but she was a different one and he liked that a lot, so when he had taken her towards the back of the building, he had no idea of the things that were going on in the head. But sure enough he had something planed out, well he thought he had something planed out, he would have to work on that later of course, besides she liked his name that was a plus. "Thank you, my mother thought it was very fitting as well. Oh you shouldn’t have to believe everything your brother says, then you wouldn’t have much fun in life if you did, besides im harmless I wont bite you. To hard at least." He laughed at his own joke as he made his way back to where the books were anyways and looked at a few of them.
"Well, we have everything from the beginners bible of medical herbs and plants, to the start of the human body, to this very nice chart of what everything looks like. Though i dare say that some of it is rather um, well lets just say they don’t cover anything up. It would be silly to if you were trying to learn about the things anyways. So here is our selection of books, pick out anything that you need or want to get at this time, ill just sit back here and watch." He said as he moved farther back into the little room and sat himself down on a nice large leather chair in a corner, where he could watch her do whatever it was that she was going to be doing at that time.

Samantha could only laugh when Laertes said she would have no fun if she didn't follow handsome men into dark rooms. It had seemed like sound advice at the time, but she had to agree it was more fun to do so. Raising her eyebrows when Laertes mentioned not biting too hard, Samantha smirked to herself. "Oh I hope so," she remarked quietly, as he moved into a sideroom after telling her what books they had. So they had some - graphic - drawings in them did they? Well that was just fantastic. Reaching down to pick up a chart of a human body, Samantha smirked when she saw that it had two very graphic drawings of a male and female body, labelled with every part. "Nice," Samantha muttered to herself, before she turned her head to see Laertes watching her from the sideroom.
Her dark eyes explored the room as she stepped into where Laertes was, still holding the chart out infront of her and glancing down at it occasionally as though she was using it as a map to find her way around the room. She moved up next to the leather chair that Laertes was sitting in and finally turned back to look at him with a smile on her lips. "What do you think of this?" Samantha questioned, leaning over the side of the chair a little and holding out the chart she had picked out. "I mean it will be useful for referencing, don't you think?" the Gryffindor continued, her eyes not leaving Laertes before she smiled a little to herself. "Although I much prefer to learn by - doing, you know," Samantha added, setting the chart down on a table nearby and leaning against it as she watched the man in the chair. "Tell me about yourself Mr Demarko."

He shifted some, what was it about her that was getting to him? He had no idea but she had this charm about her that was making it damn hard for him to resist her like that. He had to stop for a moment and rub his face so that he wasn't going to do something that he might regret later. Shaking his head for a moment he laughed about the whole biting thing, he did like to bite but that was not here or now, he would do that later, he thought at least so he had taken her back to the back. All the different charts and books and graphics and well, he did not know why he was feeling so hot under the collar at the moment, maybe it was the thought of the things in the book and what she was doing messing in his head. He wasn't watching as she was looking over one of the charts, he had seen all of it already and knew what one it was that she was looking at, couldn't help the thoughts that were running through his head about wondering what she would look like on a chart like that, oh he had to snap out of it.
He watched her the whole time, his eyes lingering in different spots as he made them move up and down her, just giving her the once over. He had never felt anything like this before with anyone else, well most people thought that he was a freak and a loser that he would want to work in a place like this then go off and do something else. He didn't care what they thought, this was his life and he was going to live it the way he wanted to. He sighed some, watching her walk into the room with the smirk on her face, he had a bad feeling about that. When she came close and leaned over him, he got and eye full of her, and she was talking him about the chart, and how she liked more to be hands on. "I think its a good chart, and well, i agree hands on is a lot better then learning from a chart" He let the smirk linger on his face as she moved to the table and asked him about himself. "Nothing much to tell, went to Hogwarts, was a Hufflepuff, brother works in the ministry and I own this shop and the apothecary, im single then again most people think im odd for wanting to own shops, other then that nothing much. What about you?" He had decided to leave his blood out of this for now, he didn't think it as any of her business right then.

Samantha's fingers were curled around the edge of the table as she leaned on it, waiting for Laertes to answer her question, well order more like. She wanted to know who he was, other than the hot shop keeper she had noticed while leaving work. That was all he was to her, and probably all he would be. Nodding her head slowly when he told her what he wanted to tell her (she could sense he wasn't about to be completely open with a stranger), Samantha smirked a little. "A Hufflepuff, huh?" Samantha remarked, tilting her head to the side and letting out a laugh. She decided not to say anything about his house, as she herself had been friends with a few Hufflepuffs in her time. They were nice people, sure, but sometimes they had a tendency to sit on the fence and never fight for themselves. Maybe he was different.
"And single," Samantha repeated, as though she was evaluating his life and would give him a rating at the end of his story. Shaking her head lightly, Samantha bit her lip then turned to look back at Laertes. "I'm guilty of that too," she remarked, though she was probably better off that way. The unlucky man who got to call her his girlfriend would have to put up with her flirting with others, probably right infront of him. Letting a smile drift back on to her features as she considered this, Samantha's dark eyes landed on Laertes once more. "I finished Hogwarts three years ago, a Gryffindor," the woman remarked, sensing that she was younger than Laertes, but it didn't matter so much when you were both adults. "I have a brother too, he organises Quidditch through the Ministry," Samantha informed him, before chuckling as she realised they both had Ministry workers for brothers. "Ooh, well this is fate," she remarked with a mischevious smirk before she glanced back at the healing chart in her hands. Part of her brain told her to pay for the chart and go, but the Gryffindor side of her wanted to stay and cause more mischief.
